8 My Hero Academia Characters Review Who Should Have Had More Screen Time
My Hero Academia is known to focus heavily on the arcs of the characters including their backgrounds, their abilities and experiences in the show. There are however characters who are underdeveloped and are worthy of much more screen time. Majority of characters had a cameo in the films, while others, who made it into the show, never really got the chance to showcase their capabilities quite well.
Sadly, some of the heroes and villains with some of the coolest abilities in the series did not get to utilize them as much as fans would have wanted. It is true that Deku, Bakugo, Shigaraki and All might are some of the most captivating and powerful characters in the show, but it sometimes seems that their dominance in the story pushes other heroes into the background. Now that the manga has come to an end it is easy to understand what went wrong and which characters in My hero academia deserved more fanfare.

Geten
Geten’s Ice Powers Are Very Remarkable, Making Him Very Dangerous To Apponents.
Geten, otherwise known as Iceman, wields a singular type of quirk that makes him one of the most villains in the series. This particular villain possessed the Ice Ply Quirk which enabled him to command and wield ice during the assaults in the Paranormal Liberation War. Some other characters like Todoroki also have ice powers, but Geten’s are unrivaled. As expected, Geten is a cut above the rest when it comes to ice wielders giving him a lot of aerial ideas when it comes to executing attacks.
Geten being one of the strongest villains in the series surely had skillset that could match that of other villains but was unfortunately short given screen time. Dabi’s fight against his opponents was violent and showcased that Dabi possesses skills very much on par with the other formidable villains in the series. Cementoss was able to capture him far too quickly capturing him within moments, removing him from the battlefield before he could fully embody what his Ice Ply Quirk was capable of.

Godzillo
Godzillo Only Received a Brief Cameo in a Movie, Hinting at Toho’s Ownership of the Godzilla Franchise
Although Godzillo appeared in the My Hero Academia: Two Heroes movie briefly as a character, he was able to capture the attention of Sometime, simply due to appearing Godzilla-like. All of his skills and Quirks are derived from Godzilla, a lizard-like superhero, which explains the name Toho from which he derives. Toho is also the name of the business franchise that owns both My Hero Academia as well as Godzilla which is also interesting.
Whether using his larger than life character as a means of promotion or just something that can be realized through sword art or power balance, he grew his image at the I-Island expo. It was then at this point that fans were let down because despite being such build up there was only a small part with Godzillo and not seeing him again was disappointing for them. While the fight was disappointing in its potential; the fact that both franchises are owned by TOHO means that there is potential for a battle scene in which a godzilla look alike fights would be a pretty awesome reflection.

Ochaco Uraraka
Ochaco Is Strong and Caring, and Deserved More Character Development Apart From Her Classmates
Ochaco Uraraka is a classmate from Class 1-A and is one of the best friends of the protagonist Izuku Midoriya. Although it has been a fact, she has been a sore underutilized character with so much potential that could have been seen if only there were plots revolving around her other than her relations with the others. In that regard, she usually reappears in the story only to either cheer Deku and her classmates or plays a supporting role in some greater battles with other casts, but not most of the stories where Ochaco is the center of action.
The fight to redeem Toga from villainy by saving her from a near death situation, and how Toga actually died in the process of saving Peter, would be one of the most important short stories of Ochaco’s. This was a very strong and most liked plot event that showcased the best aspects of Ochaco such as kindness and care towards people, her courage, her emotions on a deeper level, and also the reasons why she wanted to become a hero. There are also many other applications of ‘Zero Gravity’ Quirk that can be used effectively and even artistically. With better development, it is not far-fetched to say that Mihawk would have easily been one of the strongest heroes as well.

Nejire Hado
Nejire Receives Less Attention Than Mirio and Tamaki, Her Big Three Comrades, Although She Is as Important

The Big Three are the U.A. High School students that are loved and admired the most and have the most achievements. This group is composed of Mirio Togataru, Tamaki Amajiki, and Neijire Hado. Out of the three, the former receives the most focus, praise and attention for his achievements as he is to be U.A.’s number one Hero. Mirio was highly active during the events of the shie Hassakai arc, where he assisted Sir Nighteye and the rest of UA in rescuing Eri from Overhaul. So too, Tamaki had his own share in the struggle against conflicting forces in the conflict, where he fought the villains singlehandedly and interned under Fat Gum.
However, out of the three Mirio, Tamaki and Neijire, the last of them Neijire was the one that wasn’t featured as much. One must have been wondering how the Big Three will be without Neijire in terms of her brightness, warmth and energy along with her Quirk, which allows her to attack targeted enemies with energy waves. She is of equal importance in the group where she fought Dabi in the Paranormal Liberation War arc. There was a lot of focus on how Mirio was at U.A. and the rapport he had with Tamaki being close, that Neijire would also be developed and get the same amount of time on screen would have been incredible.

Sir Nighteye
Sir Nighteye Had One of the Series’ Most Helpful Powers, Foresight, and a Fascinating Personality
Sir Nighteye did not last long enough in My Hero Academia as his story was depetted too early after he was introduced. Out of the Nighteye, Mirai Sasaki played a decisive role in both the Overhaul battles and engaging Deku in the events which helped increment Deku’s life in the story. Mirai was very direct and firm that he would not allow evil to win out, utilizing his Foresight Quirk to be able to see the future of other people and make plans effectively to suit that future.
It is unfortunate that Overhaul was the one to end Sir Nighteye’s lifespan instead of himself so we only saw him in one season and that was the season of My Hero Academia which he wore. Mirai’s Quirk was very crucial and unique and would have been useful in the upcoming wars, sadly, it was never realized after the Shie Hassakai arc. Other plotlines concerning his character like the abusive relationship Sir Nighteye had with All Might, could have been included as well had he not died so early. It is a great pity that Sir Nighteye could not have stayed for long as he was a very promising character and one of the best heroes of the series.

Giulio Gandini
Giulio Is Persistent, Powerful, and a Fan-Favorite, so He Should Have Been Included in the Show Too

Hiroln’sh Glasses is definitely the star of the My Hero Academia: You’re Next film. Gian Giulio was given the key role of guarding Anna Scervino, a woman suffering from the dangerously unstable and potentially outsized Quirk called Over modification which enhances the Quirks of others. In a moment of sheer madness it was the Dark Might who abducted her; no man touched her creativity and that was a fact. And so Giulio left no stone unturned in recovering his love. Even if it would mean risking his life to her; she’d be worth it after all. Giulio’s Quirk, Neutralization, was also effective in preventing the counterproductive consequences of Anna’s Quirk.
During the concurrent fights, most importantly against Dark Might, Giulio managed a disorientation of high levels and apparent physical endurance which made him quite a fearsome opponent. Other My Hero Academia attempts he must have been an asset, Guzhkov worked decently with Deku and his U.A. colleagues, but after the quarrel, we should add. The normal pattern of how to fit into the rest was not applied to him and so more than one movie is made to showcase how he was lost.

Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo’s Creation Quirk Is the Most Limitless, Giving Her Endless Possibilities of Items She Can Create

In My Hero Academia, the Quirk Creation is more likely to gain the crown as the most powerful and limitless quirk. Because of the intensity of her Quirk, Momo can create anything as long as it is non living. She can build anything she envisions and this excitement doesn’t have boundaries. To name a few, she has built cannons and masks, dolls and even guns. Most importantly, there is nothing she cant create in her mind and bring out as a result. Thus Momo is one of the strongest and best fighters in class A. Because of her imagination, she can always defeat her opponents.
However, Momo’s combat strength as per the story portrayal is rather weak but she herself carries a huge potential which is not explored. There are instances where she enables to create useful tools during battles but skyscraping power against the most powerful antagonists is what she lacks. More screen time should have focused on her Quirk and how powerful she really is.

Fumikage Tokoyami
Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow Quirk Is One of the Most Powerful in Class 1-A and Deserved More Attention

With Fumikage Tokoyami, he has potential but never seems to quite get the praise he needs, deserving of a protagonist’s level. He possesses a Quirk known as Dark Shadow; able to control a strong and terrifying sentient shadow-like creature. However, this Quirk has proven to be a bit of a problem, as it has a tendency to go out of control and pose various threats, like what happened in the Forest Training Camp arc when he `lost’ the Quirk.
Within the class of the rest of the main cast heroes, his classmates get most of the screen time and he’s often disregarded as a background character. With years of training and honing his Quirk, he could probably be one of the most powerful heroes ever. It may have been more compelling to watch Tokoyami grow, as he learned to use and master his Quirk – something that seems neglected in My Hero Academia and rightfully so irritated his supporters.
